Practice of the reading and writing skills required to understand and produce academic English texts, including description, definition, exemplification, classification, comparison and contrast, cause and effect, generalization and qualification, argument. A repertoire of strategies: practice of note-taking, summarizing, paraphrasing and understanding the meaning of plagiarism; production of written academic work with an emphasis on accuracy, well-organized and academic conventions. The development of listening and speaking skills.
