The principles and techniques of translation from English to Thai and from Thai to English. The analysis of various English texts in terms of language structure, vocabulary, idiomatic expressions and socio-cultural aspects compared to texts in Thai. Practice of translating at the levels of words, sentences and paragraphs in both languages.

This course distinguishes literary from non-literary language and forms, introducing basic vocabulary for understanding and discussing literature, including, setting, plot, conflict, etc. through the reading of short stories, plays, and poetry.
